For the last five years, WWP has reached out to its membership to gather valuable information that allows the organization to improve its services and establish new, beneficial programs. The annual Alumni Survey has provided WWP with information ranging from common fears and issues veterans face after returning to their home country following combat to what kinds of physical and mental ailments prevent veterans from seeking regular employment.
For example, 7 percent of the 21,120-person membership has incurred injuries so severe that they have been left permanently housebound. Meanwhile, 75 percent of WWP alumni have yet to acquire a bachelor’s degree or comparable achievement, further limiting employment opportunities.
